The round table organized by PELE association was successfully carried out on 17 June 2020 on the Zoom platform. The panel of speakers was carefully selected among different representatives from the field of social theatre as well as academia, employer organisations and theatre students, taking into account the diverse backgrounds of each speaker. Among them, Claire Binyon, theatre teacher at ESMAE (Porto University of Music and Performing Arts), Hugo Cruz, cultural programmer and investigator, Hélder Norinho, Head of Soutelo Social Center, Magda Henriques, theatre teacher and Artistic Director at the Comédias do Minho theatre company, Marco Paiva, Artistic Director/theatre facilitator at Terra Amarela theatre company and Vicente Gil, theatre student and active member of PELE association. The moderator Maria João Mota, co-founder of the association with extensive experience in facilitating community theatre projects, moderated the discussions between all the 22 participants who took part in the round table to share their experience and opinions on the role of the Social Theatre Operator. The live streaming of the meeting obtained a surprisingly good outreach, with over 1400 viewers, 60 comments, 61 reactions and 13 shares on the following day. The project team of PELE association is confident that numbers will further increase, as the video will remain available on the association’s Facebook page for the next few weeks.
